Concept XVI In Concept XVI, Remaut pushes this fascination into bold, Duchampian territory. He creates a modern altar for the object, mounting a weathered plastic bottle directly into a recessed niche within the canvas. Set against a distressed wall that defines his aesthetic, with white plaster-like textures, the word “ART” is emblazoned with absolute clarity. This piece serves as a conceptual manifesto; rather than just depicting the object, Remaut is boldly declaring the milk bottle itself to be a work of art, challenging the viewer to stop and consider the beauty within the mundane.
