Monologue Interior by Remaut is a highly textured work defined by a dramatic interplay of light and shadow. Built up through successive layers of material, the painting reveals a richly tactile surface that evokes the appearance of a weathered wall marked by time and memory. Embedded within these layered textures is a scratched letter R, emerging like a fragment of an inscription. Subtle highlights of blue and pink animate the composition, introducing moments of luminosity and softness that contrast with its darker tones. The accumulated layers and distressed surface invite close viewing, suggesting traces of history, erosion, and the persistence of human presence.

Roger Remaut é um artista abstrato belga (1942, Oostende). As pinturas de técnica mista de Roger são construções de material, incorporando objetos encontrados, texturas, camadas de tinta e graffiti. O texto rabiscado implora por decifração, impelindo o espectador a descobrir um significado oculto, embora nenhum seja pretendido.
